How to Review a Trading Session
A session review that only records profit and loss teaches nothing, because the outcome of any single trade is mostly noise.
What should a trading session review cover?
A useful review records which level was traded, which gamma regime was in force, whether confirmation was genuinely present before entry, and whether the plan was followed. Outcome is recorded last, because process quality predicts future results and outcome does not.
Why separate process quality from outcome?
A well executed trade can lose and a badly executed trade can win, so judging execution by outcome teaches the wrong lesson roughly a third of the time. Grading process separately reveals which habits actually produce results across a full sample.
How often should a trader review results?
The Obsidian desk reviews briefly after each session and then thoroughly once each week. Weekly review across a larger sample is where the genuine patterns emerge, because a single session contains far too few trades to distinguish a real structural problem from ordinary variance.
