Building a Repeatable Trading Process
Individual playbooks only compound once assembled into a single process a trader runs the same way every session.
What does a complete trading process look like?
A complete process runs premarket preparation, marks the session levels, waits for confirmation at one of those levels, sizes from the invalidation distance, manages the position against the original plan, and reviews the execution afterwards with the outcome recorded last.
Why does consistency matter more than any single edge?
An edge only expresses itself across a large sample of identically executed trades. A trader who varies the process between trades never accumulates that sample, so the trader cannot distinguish a genuinely losing strategy from a winning strategy that is simply being executed inconsistently.
How long does building a process take?
Writing the process down takes an afternoon, and following the process reliably takes months. The Obsidian desk exists largely to shorten that second phase, because trading beside other members running the same process makes any deviation visible immediately rather than in hindsight.
