Cipher Trident: Multi Timeframe Confluence

Trident exists to stop a trader taking a level seriously when only one timeframe supports the level.

What does Cipher Trident check?

Trident checks whether a positioning level is supported across short, medium and longer dated expirations at the same time. A level appearing in all three windows reflects durable structure, while a level appearing in only the nearest expiration often disappears by the following session.

Why does timeframe confluence improve a level?

Confluence across expirations means several groups of option holders with genuinely different time horizons have concentrated positions at the same strike. Dealer hedging obligations therefore stack at that one strike, producing a defence considerably stronger than any single expiration could create alone.
